A row of Encyclopedia Britannicas. After 244 years in print and more than seven million sets sold, the Encyclopaedia Britannica is going digital, with no new editions to be put to paper.

Yet do not despair, fact lovers! As well as the final print edition of the Britannica (released in 2010), Auckland Libraries offers digital versions of the esteemed Encyclopaedia to all customers, in three distinct varieties:

The Britannica is not the only digital encyclopaedia available at Libraries. We also provide access to the Bateman New Zealand Encyclopaedia, an invaluable resource with a wide range of subjects of historical and contemporary significance to New Zealand.

Finally, we have the World Book encyclopaedias - a popular choice in print, but also available in digital format. Like the Britannica, this is split into three versions:
