Auckland Libraries offers both free and rental items for members to borrow. At the end of the initial loan period, and if no one is waiting for the title, you may be able to renew the item. Items you borrow from us can be returned to any Auckland Libraries branch.
You can pay your fees and charges for rental items at the issues desk at any of our libraries; alternatively, you can pay online using a credit card.
To pay online login to My Info and select ‘Pay fines and charges’ (this button will only appear if you have charges on your account). You will receive confirmation of payment once your transaction is complete.
Borrowing charges
Library members can borrow most items for free. Please note that some resources do have a small charge.

Overdue charges per day
Please note that items returned after their due date will incur an overdue charge. Charges are incurred per item, per day.

Charges for services relating to regional heritage collections
A new system of standardised charges for regional heritage collections services has been introduced. These charges apply to the main heritage collections at the following Auckland Libraries:
- Sir George Grey Special Collections, Auckland Central City Library (Central)
- Auckland Central Research Centre, Auckland Central City Library (Central)
- West Auckland Research Centre, Henderson Library (West)
- South Auckland Research Centre, Manukau Library & Research Centre (South)
- North Auckland Research Centre, Takapuna Library (North)
