Fuse launches with a bang

23/07/2012

Fuse - get your teen involved! Fuse, the first dedicated teen programme to be held at Auckland Libraries, has launched with a bang!

Open to all Auckland teens (aged 13 - 18) who are library members, and taking part in 54 libraries across the region, Fuse is a chance for young Aucklanders to win electronic igoodies and extreme adventure vouchers.

Our first sign-up was already completed by midday on Monday 23 July - the first Fuse participant registered at Waiuku Library.

From today, teens can sign up online by completing a 50/50 - read at least 50 pages of a library book, and then write at least 50 words about it.

Once registered, they can choose to take either the 'Slow Burn' or the 'Big Bang' track to gain entry to a prize draw for electronic igoodies and extreme adventure vouchers. Every teen who finishes will receive an invitation to the Finale Party in August.

If participants choose the Slow Burn track, they must complete six challenges from a choice of fifteen. If they choose the Big Bang track, they must complete one challenge from a choice of four bigger and more complex challenges.

These challenges will also be supported by events and at least one hour per week of dedicated teen time in every library in Auckland, excluding Great Barrier and mobile libraries.

Get involved!
