The 100-year anniversary of New Zealand's participation in the First World War will be marked from 2014-2019 at Auckland Libraries.

The First World War (1914 - 1918) was one of the most significant events of the 20th century and had a deep and lingering impact on New Zealand society.

The First World War centenary will be commemorated at Auckland Libraries with a range of events, exhibitions and publications that will make accessing our heritage collections easier.

These collections include war-related resources such as books and CDs, microfiches, photographs, oral histories, manuscripts, maps and ephemera.

Our boys, your stories: First World War website

'Our boys, your stories' offers Kiwis the chance to share local history research related to the First World War.

The 'Our boys, your stories' site is designed to provide a portal to Auckland Libraries' existing WWI-related collections, Auckland Council Archives, and external resources such as the Cenotaph Database.

The Our boys, our families research guide has been developed to help you use Auckland Libraries resources and archives to carry out research into people who had some part in the First World War.
