Auckland Libraries: About our new website

About our new website

Ngā Kōrero mō tēnei paetukutuku

Welcome to the new Auckland Libraries website. We've listened to your feedback and have been working hard to create this simplified and intuitive mobile-first web experience that reflects Auckland's diversity.

Key features

  • Simple navigation that makes it easy to access the library catalogue, eBooks and eMagazines, databases and heritage resources, as well as find out what’s happening at your community library.
  • Clean layout and built using universal design principles
  • Content is written in plain English and based on what our customers are using and looking for.

We encourage you to take a look around and tell us what you think using the feedback options at the bottom of each page.

Finding what you need on the new website

We know our website users are often looking for information relating to specific subjects, so the new website structure reflects what the content is 'about', rather than who it’s for, or what format it's in.
This means you'll find some information organised in a different way than you may be used to and we've put together some tips to help you find what you're looking for.

Search

The site search (at the top of every page) has improved so you can find the content and the online resources you're used to.

Tip

Be sure to select the Auckland Libraries catalogue search or the website search.

My Info

If you're looking for 'My Info', you can now access this through the login button at the top of every page.

Just fill in your barcode and PIN and you'll be able to check what you've borrowed, renewed, and find all of your information here.

Digital Library

Instead of a single 'Digital Library', the subject pages and the resources that you're used to are in the 'History and research' section.

If you want to browse and download eBooks, eAudiobooks, eMagazines and eNewspapers, visit the 'eBooks and eMagazines' section.

Kids and Teens

If you're looking for information for kids and teens, you'll find it under the relevant topic area of the website.

Need help with homework? Visit the 'History and research' section.

The 'New and Recommended' section is where to look for new titles and special book lists curated by our librarians - just for kids and teens.

Library branches and services

Every community library has a web page where there's information about the additional services they offer, like Citizens Advice Bureau and meeting rooms, as well as the language collections they hold, and their upcoming events.

Visit 'Locations and hours' to search for your local library.
