Join the library: kids and teens

Want to get your child a library card? It's free for under 18s who are living or attending school in Auckland, or if their parent or guardian pays rates on a property in Auckland. 

It takes just four easy steps for your child to join the library.

  1. Fill out the online registration form ('Join now' below).
  2. Parent or guardian must visit any of our libraries with the child.
  3. Parent or guardian must show personal identification (Drivers Licence, Passport, Credit Card, 18+ card, Kiwi Access card or Community Services card) and a bill or statement as proof of address. 
  4. Get a library card.

Tip

Parent or guardian not available immediately? We can issue a temporary starter membership. This membership allows a limit of two items borrowed at a time.
