Auckland Libraries: Our website vision

Our website vision

Te Tirohanga whānui mō tā mātou paetukutuku

With approximately 20,000 visitors per day to our website, it's important that we deliver a digital experience that meets the growing needs of library customers.

Our vision for this website

We've created a simplified, easy and intuitive mobile-first web experience that reflects Auckland's diversity. This is in line with our strategic plan Te Kauroa – Future Directions.

Content and design

Our aim is to provide content that is up-to-date and digestible. The content is based on what customers are using and looking for on our website.

The website has a clean layout and simple navigation that makes it easy to access:

  • library catalogue

  • eBooks and eMagazines

  • major databases

  • heritage resources

  • information about what's happening in your community.

Insights from customers are key to informing how we develop the Auckland Libraries online experience:

  • listening to what you tell us face to face

  • user-testing sessions

  • website survey results.

We encourage you to explore the site. Tell us what you think using the feedback options at the bottom of each page.

Te ao Māori

We're committed to reflecting te ao Māori and you'll find te reo Māori throughout our website.

Our website has been built using universal design principles and we're working to comply with Level AA of the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.0.
