Auckland Libraries: Behind the scenes - SOLD OUT

Family history and the media: WDYTYA? - SOLD OUT

Wednesday 7 August 1.30pm to 2.30pm Free

Stay on after Cyndi Ingle's HeritageTalk and welcome UK historian and broadcaster Dr Nick Barratt, another Auckland Family History Expo keynote speaker. Come and hear him tell us about Family History & the Media – behind the scenes of WDYTYA.

Broadcast media and the rise of the internet have transformed family history research. UK author, broadcaster, and historian Dr Nick Barratt is best known for his work on BBC’s Who Do You Think You Are? series.

In this talk, Nick uses examples from the hit UK TV series to explore how several celebrities changed the way the programme was made – and the profound impact this had on the way audiences embraced a new style of research. Come and hear Nick tell us about what really goes on behind the scenes of these TV programmes. There are more opportunities to hear Nick Barratt speak on other topics at the Auckland Family History Expo
