Extraordinary story about Polish orphan
Come along to listen to this remarkable story of the local author Józef Jagiello, the only survivor of his family exiled among thousands of others from Poland to Siberia during WWII. He is one of the 733 Polish children, mostly orphans, who arrived here in 1944 and became the very first NZ refugees, known as Pahiatua Children.
His book will be available for sale at the event.
