Ngā Taonga Sound & Vision is an independent charitable trust which holds a diverse collection of more than 750,000 items, dating back to 1895 and spanning Aotearoa’s sound and moving image history. 

ViewFinder is their moving image presentation installed in the Auckland Central City Library window on Lorne Street. It runs 24 hours a day, seven days a week, 365 days a year, screening curated selections from New Zealand’s moving image and sound archive.

Journey through Auckland over the decades. Come and see what has changed and what has stayed the same. A selection of historic film footage interspersed with contemporary footage. Locations include: Auckland Harbour Bridge, Devonport, Mission Bay, Judges Bay, Onehunga, Auckland Domain, and Auckland CBD.
