Join Keith Giles, Principal Photographs Librarian, and Gabrielle Hillebrandt, Photographs Conservator, for a lively talk about the life of Charlie Dawes and Auckland Libraries’ collection of his glass plate negatives.

As part of our current Heritage Collections exhibition, Charlie Dawes: Everybody’s artist photographer, Keith Giles and Gabrielle Hillebrandt will present a talk about the life of Dawes and the scenes and events he photographed at the turn of the twentieth century in the Hokianga region. The tasks, processes and skills of being a photographer in Northland at the time will also feature.
