Come along and see the three sculptures of Frank Sargeson. Light refreshments served from 6.00pm, talk starts at 6.30pm.

NZ Herald, 16 October 1963.
There can’t be too many Aotearoa NZ writers who have been immortalized in bronze three times – but Frank Sargeson has been. His three portrait busts are being exhibited together for the first time at the Angela Morton Room in Takapuna Library.

The busts, by sculptors Terry Stringer, Anthony Stones and Alison Duff, will be accompanied by Duff’s welded metal blackbird sculpture. Duff was the first to produce a bust of Sargeson in 1965, followed by Stones in 1969 and Stringer in 1980.

Everyone is welcome to attend the opening night event, an oral history librarian will also be on hand to record people’s memories of Frank Sargeson. Speakers will be giving a talk on the evening.
