Win With Words story writing competition

The annual Win With Words short story writing competition, run by St Heliers Community Library, supported by the Orākei Local Board and Westpac Bank, will be running this year from 24 April - 24 July 2020, for year 7 and 8 kids in Orākei.

Win With Words is a competition designed to encourage children in year 7 and 8 to write creatively and thanks to Westpac Bank and the Orakei Local Board, we have cash prizes and book vouchers are up for grabs!

Participants need to write a short story of 500 words or less on a topic of their choice or our special topic: Te Whanganui O Toi / St Heliers, past, present or future.

This year's prizes are:

  • Four cash prizes to the value of $150, $100 and $50
  • Two $100 Paper Plus vouchers will be awarded for stories written on our special topic: Te Whanganui O Toi / St Heliers, past, present or future
  • Twelve $35 vouchers for highly commended participants.
