Blockhouse Bay Library will be temporarily closed for building work from 14 October 2024 for approximately 6 to 9 months. Customers are welcome to visit New Lynn War Memorial Library (or any other Auckland Council library) until the library is reopened.

Access to the library
Blockhouse Bay Library has free parking. There's a free carpark behind the library with most spaces available for two hours. Street parking is free for one hour. There is a primary school right behind the library; so the carpark is often full at school drop off and pick up times.

The Makerspace at Blockhouse Bay Library has a 3D printer, sewing and craft equipment, and programming tools. All ages are welcome.

- Sewing equipment
- Makey Makey – coding, creation and invention kit
- Raspberry Pi – Specialised computer that teaches programming skills
Details
- The 3D printer is available during regular opening hours, and we use a first-come, first-served system.
- We charge $1 per metre of plastic PLA filament for 3D printing.
- All other equipment is available free of charge, but only during scheduled workshops.
