Join us these April school holidays for our 'Over, under, upside-down' challenges on Beanstack!

School Holidays at Auckland Libraries.

Kids and teens can log their reading and complete activities on Beanstack to earn badges and go in the draw to win prizes!

Try out heaps of fun activities and explore our range of books that will encourage your tamariki and rangatahi to enjoy reading and learning.

Download the Beanstack Tracker app on your Apple or Android device and select 'Auckland Libraries'. Or you can visit the Beanstack website to register. 

Once registered for Beanstack, you’ll be able to join our school holidays challenges for kids (5 - 12 years) and teens (13 - 18 years) from Friday 15 April.

Not online at home?

Ask for our school holiday activity booklet at your local library!

The booklet is designed for kids aged 5 to 12 years. It has an activity badge board and a reading log to track progress during the holidays. To enter the prize draw, just give your completed activity sheet to our friendly library staff on or before Sunday 1 May 2022.


Prize details, and competition terms and conditions

  • The 'Over, under, upside-down kids challenge' runs from Friday 15 April - Sunday 1 May 2022, and is open to kids aged 5 - 12 years.
  • The 'Over, under, upside down youth challenge' runs from Friday 15 April - Sunday 1 May 2022 and is open to those aged 13 - 18 years.
  • There are two prize packs for the kids challenge and one prize pack for the youth challenge.
    • The kids prize pack includes: a three-month subscription for a Creokit art design or science tech kit, and a $100 gift card for either Auckland Zoo, Jump Trampoline Park or a year’s family membership pass for MOTAT (two adults and up to four kids).
    • The youth prize pack includes: a $100 voucher for either MightyApe, JB Hi-Fi or PB Tech, plus the choice of an experience worth $100 from VR Voom, Weta Workshop Unleashed or Wero Whitewater Park.
  • All readers who log ten or more days during the challenge period will be entered into our special Top Reader bonus draws. Readers can earn an extra entry to the draw for each badge earned over ten. Each Top Reader prize draw winner will win a $100 Booksellers voucher to spend at participating bookshops.

    Readers will be placed into Top Reader prize draws within three age categories:
      • 5-8 years
      • 9-12 years
      • 13-18 years
  • Prize winners will be randomly drawn in the week beginning 9 May 2022. Winners will be notified on or before 20 May 2022.
