Sign up your kids for a summer of reading adventures and be in to win!

This summer, your goal is to read a little bit (or a lot!) every day. Track your daily reading and complete fun reading activities to earn rewards and enter exciting prize draws!

Kids’ reading challenge

Fill your summer with amazing stories and track your reading with fun stickers along the way. Visit your local library to collect your reading reward, collect stamps for completed activities and enter the draw to win exciting prizes. 

Sign up from Saturday 6 December at any Auckland Council library.

How to track your reading

1. Read every day this summer. 
2. Place a sticker on your daily reading tracker every time you complete 5 days of reading.
3. Complete activities in your booklet and visit any Auckland Council Library to collect stamps.

Rewards and prize draws

10 days of reading

Once you have completed 10 days of reading, bring your challenge booklet to any Auckland Council Library to receive your certificate and reward*. You can choose either your very own book to keep or a swim pass for a child and adult valid at any Auckland Council Pool.

*Rewards are in limited supply and will be given on a first-come-first served basis, while stocks last.

20 days of reading

Once you have completed 20 days of reading, show your challenge booklet to library staff to claim your entry into the prize draws. You could be the lucky winner of some very exciting prizes!

Entries close at 5.30pm on Sunday 1 February. 

Winners will be contacted by Monday 9 February and names announced in the library newsletter in early March.

What are the prizes?

This year’s lucky winners will receive one of these prizes:

• Family annual pass for Auckland Zoo 
• Event voucher for Auckland Live
• Football game voucher at Auckland FC 
• ‘Learn to swim’ lesson at Auckland Council Pools and Leisure 
• Ted Ashby Sailing family experience at Auckland Maritime Museum
