Raranga: Māori weaving

We are proud to host a free two day raranga workshop, running over two Saturdays with Evelyn White.

Over the course of the 2 sessions you will learn all about the Māori tradition of flax weaving/the kaupapa of raranga. This includes the philosophy, harvesting, preparation and hands on weaving and learning how to make several weaving designs, including the: flax flower bookmark, kete and fish. 

Please note that each session runs for 4 hours with a break for lunch. Please bring a packed lunch. 
This event is suitable for ages 10+. All materials are provided.
