Auckland Libraries: Playful pop-up books

Playful pop-up books

Wednesday 12 December - Sunday 3 March Free

Marvel at these 24 stunning examples of movable and pop-up books from Sir George Grey Special Collections.

Robert Sabuda. Alice's adventures in Wonderland: a pop-up adaptation of Lewis Carroll's original tale. New York: Simon and Schuster, 2003.

Highlights include a tunnel book from 1851, a 1930s edition of Pinocchio, contemporary adaptations of the classic children’s stories Peter Pan and Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland, and intricate private press pop-up books. Escape the heat in the pop-up books reading zone or take a snap of the children in your lives by the dress-ups wall!

Join us for this fun, free activity for children and families in the city this summer!

Please note this event will take place on the second-floor gallery space, 9am - 4pm every day from 12 December 2018 - 3 March 2019.
