Access BorrowBox eBooks on computer and Kobo eReader.Download to computer Before you get started You will need an eBook vendor ID to authorise your computer.If you don't have an Adobe ID, create an account on the Adobe website
Make note of the email address and password you used when you sign up. You will use these for your eBook vendor ID on Adobe Digital Editions.
Install Adobe Digital Editions on your computer. Visit the
Adobe Digital Editions website
and click the download link for either Macintosh or Windows.
Once you have installed and opened Adobe Digital Editions, you should be prompted to authorise your computer. If you are not, click on
Help
, then
Authorize computer
.
A dialog box will appear. If you have an Adobe ID, choose
Adobe ID
from the eBook Vendor options and enter your Adobe ID and password.
If you do not have an Adobe ID, you can
create an account on the Adobe website
. The email and password you entered on the Adobe website will be your Adobe ID and password for Adobe Digital Editions.
Click
Authorize
to finish the process.
Visit the BorrowBox website
and sign in with your library barcode number and PIN, the same one you use for your library account.
Tip
Forgot PIN/password?
Reset it.
No library card?
Become a library member.
To browse titles, select the eAudiobooks or eBooks icon on the menu. Or select the Search icon to search for a title.
Click
Borrow
on available books. Then
Confirm loan
to check out the book. A message will appear telling you that the loan was successful. Click
Reserve
on books that are currently on loan.
On the download page, click the
Download for eReader (Adobe ePub)
button.
If you get a pop-up message asking if you want to Open, Run or Save, make sure you choose
Open with
and choose
Adobe Digital Editions
.
If you don't get a pop-up message, check your Downloads folder for a file called
URLLink.acsm
and open it with Adobe Digital Editions.
You can now read the eBook on your computer or laptop using Adobe Digital Editions.
Windows 8 RT users
Adobe Digital Editions is not compatible with Windows 8 RT.
Transfer to Kobo eReader
Connect your eReader into your computer or laptop. It should appear in Adobe Digital Editions under
Devices
on the left-hand side.
Click on the eBook, then drag it over to your eReader.
Disconnect your eReader and start reading.
