How we can help you with research

Our Research centres, Research Central (Central City Library) and Research South (Manukau Library) have specialists on hand to help you with family history, whakapapa research and local history.

You can also make an appointment to view our Heritage Collections in the Heritage Collections Reading Room on Level 2, Central City Library or get support from our specialist librarians.

You can request research assistance by phoning (09) 377 0209 or by filling out the Research enquiry form.

Research searches that take less than 30 minutes, and enquiries that involve staff assisting a customer to use the resources of the library, are provided free of charge. Where the research is more in-depth, a charge may apply.
