New library catalogue features
Smart searching
- When you start typing in the search bar in the library catalogue, you'll see a range of topics and suggestions to explore.
- If you make a mistake in your search, you'll see helpful spelling suggestions to try.

View search tips and help
All formats of the same title (including books, eBooks, large print and more) are bundled into one result for easy viewing.
Under each item in your search results, you'll see its availability at different library locations across Tāmaki Makaurau. Click on a location to see where to find the item in the library.
Additional search filters
- The same search filters from the previous library catalogue are also available in the new library catalogue. You can filter results by location, publication date, format, age group, language and more.
- You can now also narrow your search results to physical or online items, or explore what’s recently been added to the library collections.

Your digital bookshelf
- Your library account is found in your bookshelf in the new library catalogue. Select the 'My Bookshelf' tab to view your checkouts, renew items and check your holds.
- All your account information, including reading history, has been transferred from the previous library catalogue.
- To learn how to use the bookshelf and manage your account, go to My Bookshelf help
- Your bookshelf is also the home of your bookmarks (called 'My Lists' in the previous library catalogue), saved searches and reading history.
- It's easy to create your own reading lists in the bookmarks section of your bookshelf, plus you can share these lists with friends and whānau. Go to reading list help
Things to know
- Reader reviews are not available in the new library catalogue, and reviews written in the previous library catalogue were not transferred.

Advanced search in the new library catalogue is currently under development. You can narrow your search results using the 'Refine by' menu.
Go to search tips and help
- You can search for titles in our
language collections using non-Roman characters and scripts. Some characters and scripts are not available when searching an author's name. We are working to improve this search option. In the meantime, you can use the transliterated (Romanised) spelling of an author’s name to explore their works.

- Help content is available in the library catalogue. Click the ? icon at the top of the library catalogue to explore features and help topics. Go to help resources

Updates
We are working closely with our provider to improve the user experience and functionality of the library catalogue. Improvements are rolled out regularly, so please check this page for updates.
- We introduced a fix for the library catalogue in Firefox on 31 August 2023. If you have any trouble accessing your account information using the Firefox browser, please contact us.
- Our previous library catalogue was retired on 30 June 2023 and is no longer available to use.
