The Teen collections include popular fiction by overseas and New Zealand authors, study guides and non-fiction, graphic novels, eResources and downloadable media. We even have a library dedicated to teen readers - Tupu Youth Library.



Our Teen fiction collection - includes genres such as horror/paranormal, romances, fantasy, adventure and crime. We also have bestsellers and classics from the literary greats. Many are also available as audiobooks - a collection of popular titles in CD format.

Graphic novels

We have an extensive range of graphic novels, which includes indie comics, Japanese anime/manga and DC and Marvel comics. The collection also features classics like Shakespeare in manga style. 


Non-fiction and study guides 

Teen non-fiction material focusing on issues of interest to teens such as music, fashion, crafts, sex and drugs. We also have NCEA study guides for years 9 to 13, along with Cambridge study guides, books on coping skills with the stresses and strains of studying, essay writing tips, and revision guides. 


Console games

We have games on all the major gaming platforms such as PS2, PS3, PSP, Xbox, Xbox 360 and Nintendo Wii. These are available to hire for a small charge


 eBooks and eAudiobooks

Our OverDrive teen eBook collection has a range of titles, both fiction and nonfiction, for you to download and read on your eReader or tablet. Some titles are also available as eAudiobooks for you to download to your iPod, MP3 player while you're on the move.



Teen eResources in the Digital Library cover a range of topics from studying to leisure. Find information about health issues, research hot topics, or find a good book to read.
