Friendly stars. Kids' collections

As well as books, you can also borrow CDs, DVDs, the latest magazines and a range of games from your local library.

So, how do you find what you're looking for in the library? First, look for signs or ask a librarian to show you where the children's area is.

Children's books and other collections are all kept in the same area of the library, to make them easier for you to find. Different types of books and other things you can borrow are each grouped together. In your local library, for example, you might find groups like these:

Picture books and board books

Board books introduce babies to holding and turning pages without the books getting damaged. Picture books have many purposes, of greatest importance is the sharing of stories between reader and child.
