Find out how to get started with BorrowBox on your smartphone, tablet, computer or compatible eReader with our quick BorrowBox set-up guide.







Your account

Use your Auckland Libraries barcode number and PIN/password to log in to BorrowBox .

  • Borrow up to 15 eBooks and 15 eAudiobooks at a time.
  • 28 day loan period.
  • Place a reserve (hold) on popular eBooks and eAudiobooks. Reserved titles will automatically check out when available and you’ll receive an email notification. Please note that reserves count towards your checkout limit.
  • Up to two renewals available on each item. Renewal is guaranteed, even if there are holds on the item.
  • Loans are automatically returned on the due date. You can also return items early.
  • Access is available from outside New Zealand.
Please note:
  • You can find BorrowBox items when you search the Auckland Libraries catalogue.
  • Your current loans will appear on your ‘Bookshelf’ in the library catalogue. To access your loan, open your ‘Checkouts’, select the down arrow (next to the ‘Return’ button) and select ‘Get Item’.


Troubleshooting

  • To find your library barcode number or reset your PIN/password, refer to our login help section.
  • For help transferring eBooks to a compatible eReader, refer to the ‘Download eBooks’ section on BorrowBox Help .
  • eReaders must be compatible with Adobe Digital Editions to read eBooks from BorrowBox. View compatible eReaders 
  • Kindle eReaders, except for Amazon Fire tablets, are not compatible with our eCollection platforms. They do not use the industry standard formats for eBooks (EPUB or PDF).
  • If you have any difficulty viewing your checkouts in the library catalogue, please try the BorrowBox app or website.
