Makerspace
The Makerspace at Central City Library has 3D printers and sewing equipment. The Makerspace has something for all ages. Staff are available to teach you how to use our equipment. If you want to find out more or request a booking, send us an email at
makerspace@aucklandcouncil.govt.nz
3D printer
We have Ultimaker 2+. Our 3D Printers can turn a digital 3D model into a real-world object!
We are currently only offering staff assisted and DIY bookings. We require that your first booking is with a staff member so you're familiar with the processes that we use.
Sewing equipment
We have a Sewing machine, Overlocker and Embroidery machine.
The Makerspace has a range of basic tools and thread to help you use the machine, it’s up to you to bring in a project to work on. The sewing machine can be used without a staff induction but for your first booking with our overlocker and embroidery machine, we require that a staff member help you.
Makerspace Table
The big table at the Makerspace can be booked for public workshops, creative clubs, or big projects. Your booking includes a projector for presentations.
Please note that the Makerspace and its equipment must still be accessible during your booked session.
To request a booking, email
makerspace@aucklandcouncil.govt.nz. We’ll let you know how we can help. We need a minimum of a week's notice for Makerspace Table bookings. But we recommend that you send your request well in advance.
