    Te Manawa's Makerspace offers a range of specialised equipment which can be used with a library membership. We also have a range of creative workshops, events and activities.


    3D printing

    With our Ultimaker 3, bring your 3D digital design into a real-world object!

         To use our printer you will need to do one of the following: 

    • Create your design using 3D software such as Tinkercad or Blender and be in STL, 3MF or OBJ format.
    • Use a pre-made design like those found on thingiverse.com. 


    We charge $1 per lineal meter of material used. Customers are limited to one print per customer per week. You can collect and pay for your print at Te Manawa Library. 

    Once your design is ready, email it to us for printing!

    Sewing equipment

    We have the Singer Heavy Duty 4411 sewing machine and a Singer Overlocker; both can be booked for free. Book with us and then bring your material and thread. To book a sewing machine, email us with your preferred date and time.




    Recording studio

    We have everything you need to record and edit your own music, podcasts, and other media in our recording studio.

          Our dual recording studio is fit for purpose with the following equipment:

    • Presonus 16R (audio interface and digital mixer)
    • Two Presonus Eris monitor speakers (model: E5 XT)
    • Cables to suit (XLR, TS, HDMI, VGA, Ethernet, IEC)
    • Inter-studio patching
    • Sound dampened walls and windows

    We also have computers (iMac and Windows), headphones, microphones and other AV equipment available to hire with your booking.
