Manage your library account
Find out how to manage your library account online by using My Info to renew, request, and check what items you have out. Here you can also arrange to store your reading history, create lists, rate and review items, update your address, or enter your email details so you can get reminders when your items are due.
A great way to manage your library account is through the online tool My Info. To log in, you will need to know your barcode number (the long number under the barcode on the back of your membership card). You will also need a pin number which acts as a password – you can set this up on your first login by leaving the pin box blank, which will cause you to be asked to enter a pin. This will allow you to see what items you have out, when they are due, renew selected items (see below), and keep track of your outstanding requests (holds).
Keeping track of your reading history
My Info allows you to keep a list of what items you have previously taken out. It is only accessible through My Info. If you do not want a record of your reading history login to My Info, then go to ‘My Reading History’ and click the ‘Opt Out’ button.
Create reading lists
The My Lists feature in the catalogue allows you to create and save lists of books, DVDs, CDs, etc. You can create a wish list of items you want to borrow at a later date, recommend to others, or just keep track of items you like.
Renew titles online through My Info or contact your local library. Items can be renewed twice, only if they have not been requested by other customers. Items are renewed for the same period as the original loan, and rental items incur the same initial rental charge (see the fees and charges page). The new due date of your item is based on the date of renewal, not the initial due date. The option to renew items becomes available two weeks before the due date. Magazines cannot be renewed, but some downloadable media can be renewed. See the eBook and eAudiobook loan settings for more information.
Provide the library with your email address and we will automatically send an email reminder notice three days before your items are due. You have the choice to return or renew your borrowed items on or before the due date to avoid fees. You can provide us with your email address by logging into My Info and clicking 'Modify Personal Information'.
To see the loan periods for different types of item (as well as what you will be charged if they are returned past their due date), visit our fees and charges page.
Payment of fees and charges
You can pay fees and charges at the issues desk of any library. You can also pay online using a credit card or debit card. Alternatively, you can pay via bank transfer using our account-to-account service. To pay online, login to My Info and select 'Pay fines and charges'. This button will only appear if you have charges on your account. You will receive confirmation of payment once your transaction is complete.
Lost or damaged items
We ask you to take good care of any items you borrow. If you lose or damage any library items, please let us know as soon as possible. A replacement charge will need to be paid, which may include an administration fee.
